Does Mergr have portfolio or company contacts?

Short answer: no — Mergr tracks individuals on the investor and advisor side (PE firms, banks, law firms), but not at the company level (CEOs, CFOs, founders, board members).

Short answer: no. Mergr does not collect leadership names or any other personnel data for companies in the database — this applies to publicly traded companies, PE-backed portfolio companies, and standalone privates alike.

What Mergr does track

The professionals Mergr does cover are on the investor and advisor side:

  • Private equity firms — senior investment professionals (partners, principals, managing directors).

  • M&A advisors — senior bankers and attorneys at investment banks and law firms.

This data is searchable through the Professionals search and surfaces on each firm's profile under the Team tab.

Why

Company-level executive contacts are a different data category — large, fast-changing, and well-covered by dedicated providers (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo, RocketReach, Cognism). Adding shallow coverage in Mergr would compete with those providers without offering meaningful depth. We've prioritized professional coverage where Mergr's data is auditable and connected to deal activity — the investor and advisor sides.

What you can do instead

  • For company executives — pair Mergr with a dedicated contact-data tool. Use Mergr to identify the right companies (target lists, ownership status, deal history); use the contact tool to find people inside them.

  • For PE firm or advisor personnel — use the Professionals Search Tool to find individuals at firms, banks, or law firms in the database.

  • For board-level connections to PE-backed companies — the senior partner at the sponsoring PE firm is typically on the company's board. Find them on the firm's Team tab and check titles for board roles.
