Connect Mergr to HubSpot

Connect your HubSpot account to Mergr in about a minute

What the integration does

Connecting HubSpot lets you send any PE firm, company, investment bank, law firm or professional from Mergr straight into your CRM with one click. Firms and companies arrive as HubSpot Companies; people arrive as Contacts, linked to their employer. There is nothing to configure and no API key to copy: you sign in to HubSpot, approve access, and you are back in Mergr.

Before you start

  • An active Mergr membership. CRM pushes are not available during a free trial. On the Integrations page you can end your trial and start a membership, and the integration unlocks straight away.

  • Your own Mergr sign-in. CRM connections are personal to each user. If your team shares one login, each person needs their own Mergr account to connect.

  • Permission to install apps in HubSpot. HubSpot only lets Super Admins, or users with App Marketplace access, connect apps. Any HubSpot edition works, including the free CRM.

  • One CRM at a time. If Salesforce is connected, disconnect it first.

Connect HubSpot

  1. In Mergr, open the account menu and choose Integrations (mergr.com/user/integrations).

  2. On the HubSpot card, click Connect.

  3. Sign in to HubSpot. If you have access to more than one HubSpot account, choose the one Mergr should send records to.

  4. Review the access Mergr asks for and click Connect app.

  5. HubSpot sends you back to Mergr, where the HubSpot card now shows Connected. You can start pushing records from any record page.

What Mergr can access in HubSpot

  • Read, create and update Companies and Contacts, so it can check for duplicates and add the records you push.

  • Create Mergr's own company and contact properties (listed below).

Mergr does not read your deals, emails, notes or tasks, and it never deletes anything in HubSpot. It only ever writes the records you choose to push.

Properties Mergr adds

The first time you push a record, Mergr creates these properties in your HubSpot account so you can see where a record came from and filter on it:

Property

On

What it holds

Mergr ID

Companies, Contacts

Mergr's identifier, e.g. firm:1045 or professional:8800. Used to recognise the record on later pushes.

Disconnect or switch to Salesforce

Go to Integrations, open HubSpot and click Disconnect. Mergr's access is revoked immediately. Records you have already pushed stay in HubSpot. To use Salesforce instead, disconnect HubSpot first, then connect Salesforce.

Next: Push Mergr records to your CRM explains what gets sent and how duplicates are handled.
