Push a record
Open any PE firm, company, investment bank or law firm in Mergr, or a professional at one of them.
Click the CRM button next to the Save icon at the top of the page. Hovering over it shows Push to HubSpot or Push to Salesforce.
The button confirms the result: the record was created in your CRM, matched one that was already there, or updated an existing one.
If you have not connected a CRM yet, the button offers a link to the Integrations page.

Owners and employers come along
When you push a company that is owned by a PE firm or by another company, Mergr also adds the owner and links it as the parent company. When you push a person, Mergr also adds their employer if it is not in your CRM yet. Linking to an owner or employer that is already in your CRM is free; adding a new one counts as one more record against your monthly allowance. You can turn this off with the Include parent owner setting; the owner's name is then kept as text only.
What gets sent
Firms and companies: name (the trading name when there is one), website, phone, description, industry, full headquarters address (with states and countries written out in full), and the Mergr fields listed in the connection guides: ownership, current owner, owned since, legal name, entity type and a link back to Mergr.
People: first and last name, job title, email, phone, their employer, and their Mergr ID.
With Include full profile details turned off, firms and companies are sent with just their name, website, address and Mergr fields, for teams that prefer to enrich records themselves.
How duplicates are handled
Before creating anything, Mergr looks for the record in your CRM:
Firms and companies are matched on website domain first, then on Mergr ID.
People are matched on email address first, then on Mergr ID.
When a match is found, Mergr leaves it untouched, and the push doesn't count against your allowance. If you would rather refresh existing records with Mergr's latest data, turn on Update existing records on re-push; matched records then have their fields overwritten, and the push counts as one record.
Settings
Open Integrations and choose your connected CRM to change these.
Setting | Default | What it does |
Include full profile details | On | Sends the description, phone and industry. Off sends name, website, address and Mergr fields only. |
Update existing records on re-push | Off | On: a record already in your CRM is overwritten with Mergr's latest data. Off: Mergr never changes records your team has edited. |
Include parent owner | On | Adds a company's owner, or a person's employer, and links it. Off keeps the owner's name as text only. |
On team accounts, the primary account holder controls these settings and they apply to everyone on the team. Each team member still connects their own CRM login.
