How to Find Investors Active on $1B+ Deals

Surface every PE firm or corporate acquirer that has bought a company for $1 billion or more — for mega-cap pitch comps, IC reference, vendor and service-provider target lists, and mega-cap thesis support.

Why this search matters

Mega-cap M&A is a small, repeat-player universe. Knowing who's actually transacted at $1B+ — and at what frequency — anchors any conversation about top-of-market deals: pitch comps, co-investor sourcing, IC "who plays at this size" references, LP / fund-of-funds benchmarking, and target-account lists for vendors and service providers selling into the M&A ecosystem.

Note on deal values: Mergr filters this list to deals where value is disclosed. Many large M&A deals don't publish terms. Treat this list as the disclosed large-deal universe, not the absolute largest.

Step 1

Open the Private Equity Search page.

Step 2

On the Private Equity Search page, Click 'More Options' to expand the full filter set.

Step 3

With the search interface expanded, locate the Deal Value field in the Investment Activity section. Select USD 1B to USD 10B and > USD 10B from the dropdown under Acquisition Value.

Step 4

Select Search and view your results.

Additional searches to try

  • Filter Acquisition Value to > USD 10B only — narrows to true mega-deal players.

  • Filter by Country — isolates regional mega-cap activity (e.g., US-only, EU-only).

  • Filter by Sector of the targets acquired — surfaces sector-specific mega-cap acquirers.
