Limits, privacy & troubleshooting

Read-only access, usage limits, and quick fixes for common error messages.

Privacy & security

  • Read-only. The connector can search and retrieve Mergr data. It cannot add, change, or delete anything in your account or in the Mergr database.

  • Your password stays with Mergr. You sign in on a mergr.com page; your password is only verified against mergr.com and is never shared with the AI application.

  • Your conversations stay with your AI assistant. The connector passes no user info or data to Mergr beyond the search itself.

  • One session at a time. Your account supports a single active session — signing in elsewhere signs out the older session.

Usage limits

The connector includes generous daily usage designed for normal research — most users will never notice a limit. A typical question uses one to three data lookups, and allowances reset automatically each day.

Each lookup returns a focused set of results rather than a bulk export. The assistant always tells you the total number of matches and can narrow, re-sort, or continue from there.

Troubleshooting

"Your Mergr access is no longer active"

Your Mergr subscription or seat has lapsed, or your account was deactivated. Contact your account admin or support@mergr.com.

"Your Mergr session has been signed out because your account was accessed elsewhere"

Someone signed in to your Mergr account from another device or browser (one active session at a time). Reconnect the connector to sign back in.

"You've reached the Mergr connector's request limit"

You've temporarily hit the usage allowance. Wait a little and try again — allowances reset on their own. If you're seeing this during normal research, let us know at support@mergr.com so we can take a look.

The assistant says it can't see Mergr tools

  1. Start a new chat — tools are loaded when a conversation starts.

  2. Check the chat's tools menu and make sure Mergr is toggled on.

  3. If it's still missing, remove and re-add the connector in Settings → Connectors (note: this resets your "Always allow" tool approvals).

Answers don't appear up to date or a tool errors repeatedly

Try the question again in a new chat first. If the problem persists, email support@mergr.com with the question you asked and roughly when — we can trace exactly what happened.
